pet insurance a good idea or a waste of money.i have a new puppy and just dont know if it is worth just paying the vet fees because he is healthy and just needed shots or should i sign up for the insurance in case something horriable happens

Insurance tend to be a joke with most things like cars, house, boat, etc. I personally wouldn't but I don't know the details of what pet insurance is or does.

I keep Insurance on my dog, mine covers her shots and basic lab work plus two checkups for what just the shots would cost. It also gives a discount on addition visits and care. You also have to figure puppies are like kids, never know what their going to get themselves into!

Hi there nurse J here, yes it is and please make sure you get it before your pup gets sick, because then they will classify the next illness or medical emergency as a pre=existing condition, and you will be denied. I have used it on some of my babies and one was a surgery and one was an illness and they paid 1/2 or more of the bill, you have to pay first then they reimburse you. J

You never know what crazy things a pet can get into. One of my cats, Tiamat, tryed to eat a bee one time & got her tongue swolt. But yeah, definatly read the full contract first as with any contract;^]
