ALIVE!

What have you been through or experienced that makes you appreciate life that much more? If you don't mind what was that experience?

Lost my little brother 10 years ago in a car accident. It makes you realize very fast how quick it can be taken from you.

Worked as a paramedic on the local ambulance. I've done CPR on my aunt, got her back, but she was brain dead. Went to a motor vehicle accident and found my cousin dead at the scene..... Life is precious people, don't waste it.... flowerforyou

Youre lucky!!! My ex husband ended up in total renal failure....I thought he had pneumonia because his breathing was strange......I dragged him into hospital and immediately er.....he is now awaiting a kidney and is on dialysis 3 times a week, 4 hours at a time.

My near death experiences I was too young to really remember much of, specially since I was knocked unconscious during both, but I did learn a new appreciation for running, skiing and anything on my feet after recovering from a motorcycle accident as a teen that came really close to amputation from gangrene. ohwell

Nearly got involved in 2 car accidents.

Once was with my dad, on a Sunday morning in winter coming back from church. Was real cold, and the roads were very icy. We were on the freeway, over on the shoulder, and suddenly my dad lost control of the car, and it did a complete 180 degree turn, not hitting anything in the process thank God. Scared the crap out of us, we were lucky, if we had the wall, I might not be here right now. Probably would have got knocked right into the middle of the freeway.

The other time, I was at college one rainy morning before class, little earlier then usual. I had just bought some lunch, and my friends decided to go to out to Burger King or wherever they went. I stayed back of course, since I already had food to eat. It was a good thing I did too, because when they went, they ended up getting into a accident, when the car they were driving hydroplaned turning onto a side street hitting a truck head on. Everyone was alright, sans some minor bumps and bruises, but I was really lucky. That easily could have been me. Someone was definitely looking out for me that day.

Figure I put mine here, some of you probably know.

When I was 14 I was hit by a car while I was on my way to school, still trying to get too school afterwards. Passed out on the curb and was taken to a local hospital then life-flighted to another hospital, I died midflight (literally, I flatlined for about 7-8 minutes) no one expected me to make it through the night, when I came out of my coma a month later I was told I would probably never walk again...never stood down, and walk to the gas station almost daily.
