Maybe it's different with women, but with men, I can pretty much spot that behavior before I go out with them to begin with.

Let's see...so far I've attracted a man who is a self-professed "heartless a$$hole", an alcoholic who is on the verge of suicide because his wife just recently left him taking his kids with her, a few men who are far too young for me (wondering what I'm doing wrong???) and a few who are more than 100 miles away from me (with gas prices such as they are, highly unlikely we will meet any time soon). So I'm feeling a bit discouraged, too.
