Hobbes is going there next weekend. He has an eye melanoma and another cancer in his face that's inoperable. I just want to thank all of you who have been so supportive. My sister is coming from Dallas to make this a bit easier on me. It's a tough decision, but I feel like I'm doing what's best for him, even though I don't want to let him go.

Hey, it's a very tough decision,i know i've had to make it several times. The best cat i ever had, had cancer eight years ago and i still miss him. He was more than a mere cat to me.

I lost my English Springer Spaniel to lymphosarcoma two years ago. She was fifteen. Even chemotherapy was too risky at her age. She was given prednazone to make her comfortable. She died in her sleep two months after being diagnosed. She suffered very little.
In the end she had become a dog to old to run and play. To her doctor just a patient. To others, simply one whose time had come. But to me, she was my friend who just happened to be a dog. I'm sure that what you are doing will prevent needless suffering and pain. Best wishes to you both. |

Oh man, Hobbes is looking at me right now and wants to go outside for a walk. So I guess I'll go follow him around for a while. Thank you all again.
To Merlin and all the other cats!!!! Sorry, and all the dogs, too. |

I don't have a cat, but, I had to do the same thing a few months ago to my dog. The pain is still the same. My prayers go out to you in your time of need

In 22 yrs I have buried 7 dogs in the frt yard.
Loved em all, they were our kids. When I die, I will be cremated & told son to throw a big party. Next morn., dig a hole & pour me in, I will spend eternity w/my *****es. |

Theres a great book for greiving pet owners called "The Rainbow Bridge" which talks about the afterlife for pets. And theres another one called "ghost cats" about cats who come back to say goodbye to their owners.
I know its a hard decision and it sucks like no tomorrow, but you will make it thru, and your buddy will be watching you, just further away now =) |
