I stayed at Luxor when I went.
It's a good place not really expensive. |

i live here in las vegas and the strip is a rip-off i reccomend the orleans hotel on tropicana and that way you can have a releif off the strip also southpoint casino but if the strip you desire go to flamingo or the mirage or off strip the rio hotel is nice

Oh God, I can't believe I'm doing this.
From personal experience, Vegas is Vegas no matter where you stay (because you don't have to stay glued to your Hotel): following are places I've stayed in sorted into two catagories: Places worth staying: Venetian MGM New York, New York Tropicana Mirage Paris Rio Luxor Bally's Treasure Island Hilton (the Old Hilton Rocks) Palace Station (For the price it's great) Wynn (but overrated for the $800 a night) Try to find another place: Stardust Circus Circus Riviera Excalibur Stratosphere Places that look good (but I haven't stayed at yet) Mandalay Bay (Awesome Pool: can stay elsewhere and pay to go) Caesars Palace The Updated Down Town Casinos (All four look good, fun & cheap) Planet Hollywood Hard Rock is too small (get's boring fast and I didn't even stay there Plus it's too far away from the strip) Just my Opinion from experience..... |

I love vegas, just got back.. I usually stay at the bellagio, but i did try the Wynn and the Palazzo and they are all insane if you want to be pampered..

Aladdin's is no longer an option in Vegas because of the war... But, if you like Planet Hollywood, that's what Aladdin's is now

yeah. too bad it's gone downhill the last couple of years. it looks all run down and smells like mold.
another potential choice is "Terrible's" which is evidently near the Las Vegas airport. i hear a lot of swingin' singles go there. |

I just got back from there this past weekend. I ended up staying in Excalibur, we had 3 people in the room and for 2 nights it was about $80 a person. At Monte Carlo, where my brother was staying, was fairly inexpensive as well. Instead of paying $80 each my freiends and I could have stayed at a little nicer spot for $98. My room at Excalibur was good except for the view out of the window, but at Monte Carlo the view was tremendous. All in all both spots were good because I believe that area is the best part of the strip.

The Excalibur . Also if you need items of a personal nature, don't bother buying from the strip stores, go to Target, off the beaten track, but well worth the trip.
As for eating, I recommend eating in a nice coffee shop. Most of the buffets suck. |

yeah. the venetian's cool. and the waitresses there wear the skimpiest uniforms, too.
you get the BEST room rates by staying at the smaller hotels though, like the Boulder Station. sure, they're off the strip, but the prices are hella cheap- i once got a weekend rate for $45 a night, and the room was friggin' HUGE! not only that, but the place was pretty snazzy too- not quite as nice as the Luxor or the Bellagio, but it was still pretty well-kept. not at all like the Circus Circus, which just looks shabby all together. |
