So, I'm a MMA fan but I'm pretty limited to UFC and occasionally IFL but This Saturday is the primetime debut of EliteXC(formerly on Showtime) and the second proffesional fight of Kimbo Slice's career... I really wonder if those who don't know about Kimbo are ready to see him. He is a machine, granted I think even if Dana White was willing to bring him to UFC he would not match up against people like Frank Mir, Kimbo is one dimentional take him down and he is through..... but I'm watching tomorrow deffinately... And all MMA fans should to if for no other reason but to see Kimbo.... If you've never seen him go to his website...and check out his fights, like his professional debut against Tank Abot(that was amusing)

Oh god he is mean.. But Sean Gannon proved you could beat him.. And what happened to Gannon after he beat Kimbo? He got a fight that UFC heavily promoted and then got his ass kicked and hasn't been heard from since! Hell kimbo challenged him to a re-match and Gannon won't do it...

kimbo has yet to really be tested, hopefully thompson will make the fight interesting. Ufc had a similiar situation with lesner ......but they put him up against one of the best jutitsu blackbelts in the heavyweight division of all time. So he got submited. Good to see MMA get into the mainstream thats for sure though

The difference is Lesnar has the ground game, he is a wrestler...not referring to wwe reffering to collegiate national champion....

rumors are though that bobby lashley will be offered a contract after lesnar's next fight... because who does not want to see lashley vs/ lesnar for real...

I wish kurt angel would have accepted the one fight contract to fight lesnar...

i was refering to how hyped lesners ufc fight was. the man is talented there is no debate on that. Lashley i thought went back to wrestling.....not for wwe but i am sure i heard he back somewhere

There are talks of him signing with TNA but it is still up in the air..... I hope not I would be fine if MMA whiped out proffesional wrestling all together...(granted i enjoy it but i would rather see real violence)

Kimbo is scary--no doubt about that. Anyone who disagrees should go to YouTube and check him out. The problem here is we don't really know how good the guys he's fought up until now really were. He has one punch knockout power and he doesn't seem to get hurt but beating Tank Abbot (with due respect, Tank was never an MMA guy but a bar brawler) isn't really what is needed to get a shot at Mir or someone like Fedor.

Still, the guy seems to work hard and from what people have written is really a pretty nice guy. I think that he--like others--have been brought up and into MMA based on street credibility and Kimbo is not lacking in that area. But as was mentioned above, if he is ever put on the ground it could be ugly. Look at what happened to Lesner against Mir.

Still, I'll watch him anytime.

Well, we will find out tomorrow how well Bas Rutten has trained him. Kimbo will probably never get the chance to fight someone of Mir or Fedor simply because 1) He'll never go to UFC unless he gains a little more control and gets a hold of his tempor and 2) Alot of the credible fighters don't want to fight them simply because Kimbo is a street fighter so he doesn't feel that the rules apply to him...

Oh, I agree. And I think there is another reason. A loss to Kimbo would be terrible for any top-notch fighter. It is a huge risk to fight him because of his punching power and so guys are going to be careful. Still, you are right--Fedor isn't coming to the UFC (thanks Dana) and I don't know where the Heavyweight division is going in the UFC. But like you said, he's fun to watch and if Bas is training him then he's working on more than just stand-up. The guy could get really scary if he ever becomes well rounded.

No kidding think about him with a ground game... and some muay thai.... the heavyweight division would be monopolized by kimbo
