...I tell a woman that I went out with over the weekend, that I don't think it's a good idea for us to pursue this relationship any further? I've found out from third parties to watch my back. Any ideas I'll fully appreciate. Thanks.

I don't think she'll appreciate the honesty thing. I'm looking out for my best interest and if I tell her that people told me to watch my back, she might not like that.

My first thought is that if you don't want to pursue it based solely on what third parties said then maybe you should talk to her about what you heard and hear her side of the story. If there's more reason than that just tell her you don't think she's what you're looking for. It's easier to be honest now than to give someone the impression you're leading them on.
