Awesome!! I have never been comfortable with the term "God" either. It holds so much assumption to the nature of what is.

I like Energy. flowerforyou flowerforyou

i have just started my walk with God and sometimes it gets rough i feel like i cant walk this walk even though i love God i feel like i am contantly on the battle feild(fighting all the time no time to rest ) can any one give me some Godly advice bigsmile indifferent

In thinking about your request for "Godly advice" I can't help but wonder what the actual problem is. I don't see "life itself" as a problem. An interesting development, and a challenge perhaps... laugh

I am not a Christian but I have faith in God. My concept of God is described as pantheism. (God is all and is in all things.)

Is it possible that you are suffering from clinical depression or some other medical problem? You say you feel loved. How much, if any, gratitude do you feel for anything in your life? What are you truly thankful for?

When I ask what you are truly thankful for, I am not asking what you think you should be thankful for, but what you truly do feel thankful for. The feeling of genuine gratitude will put you in direct connection with God.

You are in a good learning place. It may at times get a bit loud. But, take what you can use and save the rest. Save it because there may come a time when you can use it as well.

Everyone here means well and will try and guide you sometimes gently and sometimes in ways that may anger you. Just take it all in. All of it.

God is many things to many people. We have a large forum and all fit in.

Luck in your journey dear one. It's long, hard, and loving. Ask questions, take advice quietly and learn.

Good, I'm glad about that. Nice to see you laugh. I saw a special on television the other day all about people who have clinical depression. I don't know what that would be like.

I guess I am just always blissfully content, so I don't understand it. My motto is, "Don't sweat the small stuff."

And it's all small stuff.

I find that if you ignore a problem completely enough it disappears. (because you can't see it.) laugh laugh laugh Of course not everyone understands or agrees with concept.

It's really simple Nubian.

There is only one prayer you need to pray. And when you pray it take heed of its words. Listen to what the prayer is saying, ask that it be answered, and know that it is true, and you will come to understand the true nature of God.

This prayer is very popular and you can even buy pendants, plaques and pictures that have this prayer engraved or printed on them. It is called the serenity prayer and it goes like this,...

"God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference."

If you pray this prayer every day and listen to the words yourself as you pray (don't pray blindly! Listen to what you are asking for!)

And then BELIEVE that the prayer has been answered. And knowingly, and consciously do your part at accept that the prayer has been answered. Then you will understand that God has always been walking with you every step of your life.

The problem with so many people is that they cannot accept the things they cannot change. They expect God to come into their lives and miraculously change the things they cannot change. That's not going to happen. Listen to the words of the Serenity Prayer. You do not ask God to change the things you cannot change. You ask God to grant you the serenity to accept them.

God only helps those who are willing to help themselves. So you have to do your part in finding serenity in the acceptance of things you cannot change. Don't expect God to change them for you.

The problem with so many people is that they are not prepared to take the actions necessary to change the things in their lives that the can change. They expect God to do their work for them. That's not going to happen. You do not ask God to change the things that you can change. You trust that God is behind you and has empowered you do change those things, and you must act accordingly.

God only helps those who are willing to help themselves. So you have to do your part in finding the courage to change the things that you can change. Don't expect God to change them for you.

And the final piece of the prayer is asking for the wisdom of knowing which is which. What can you change and what can't you change. Well, that wisdom can only be had over time. You need to try to change things in your life. Start with simple things that you know you can change. Like your own behavior?, then maybe try becoming an influence on changing the behavior of others via encouragement and example.

You'll fall, you'll stumble, and if you're doing well you laugh at yourself as God reaches his hand down to pull you back up. But the journey is yours, not his.

Someone else offered the spiritual poem Footprints in the Sand. I would now like to offer the spiritual poem Buttprints in the Sand.

Butt Prints in the Sand

One night I had a wondrous dream,
One set of footprints there was seen,
The footprints of my precious Lord,
But mine were not along the shore.
But then some stranger prints appeared,
And I asked the Lord, "What have we here?"
Those prints are large and round and neat,
"but Lord, they are too big for feet!"
"My child," He said in somber tones,
"For miles I carried you along.
I challenged you to walk in faith,
But you refused and made me wait.
You disobeyed, you would not grow,
The walk of faith, you would not know,
So I got tired, I got fed up,
And there I dropped you on your butt.
"Because in life, there comes a time,
When one must fight, and one must climb,
When one must rise and take a stand,
...or leave their butt prints in the sand".

Ok - well as long at this is such a good place to learn, the lesson should be well rounded.

Hi - atheist here, actually pacifast atheist, which means this

If it takes a higer power in a persons life to keep the peace then they can believe anything they like.

Sadly, the differences in faith and the 'competition' to be the only faith to prove it is correct and finally the 'race' to determine who will be the FIRST to the finish line to say I told you so, is what causes most of the malcontent in this world. Put greed and religion together and the world becomes a gruesome place of torture, suffering and death.

So whatever faith you choose, try to find the most peaceful and HUMBLE bunch to align with. THEN I would most heartily agree with ABRA

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference."

THE POINT IS: depend on yourself, build your inner strength and it will shine ourward when you need it. Know that YOU are in control of YOUR life, that where ever you perceive a choice there are choices and YOU are in control of making those choices. Make them well, using your confidence, your strength, logic and love. If your path needs adjusting you will find other choices - that's what life gives us, new days and new possibilities.
