Is it just me or isn't it just plain old courtesy to send a reply? Even if you are not interested. How hard is it to send someone "Thanks but no thanks." I reply to ones that make an effort. If I can tell they've read my profile (ie mentioned a few things from there or asked questions based on what they've read), I'll respond. I have responded back to hi how are you before my just saying I'm good and yourself. Maybe this is where I've gone wrong. Like a lot of my messages might be short like: "Hey you seem interesting wanna be friends?" That might explain my lack of responses sometimes. I'm somewhat new to this if you can't tell lol. |

I answer every reply, cause I'm here for friends and there's no such thing as "thanks but not thanks" when it comes to making friends far as I'm concerned. |

I personally answer all my emails, but, maybe some people just think its not as mean to just not reply instead of saying thanks but no thanks. I think I would rather just not reply if I really wasnt interested, but I usually try to be polite, so that hasnt happened yet.

It is just a sign of who selfish our country has become. I would never NOT reply to someone who took the time to message me. It is a sign of good manners to at least let a person know you are not interested. You do not have to go into great detail, but a simple response is thoughtful, and the proper thing to do.

When I get one of those "hi how are you" e-mails I just answer by asking them why they wrote to me.
None of them have ever come up with a reply. |

Thanks but not interested. You are so funny! |

Depends on the content of the message. Sometimes I don't have time to reply, as I have a 14 month old and have to run at a moments notice. HOw about not getting so bent out of shape because a STRANGER doesn't talk to you?!

I don't think you should give a "no answer" a second thought.
Of course whether you get a response or not probably depends on what kind of message you sent in the first place. If it say just Hi, that does not say a lot. I have sent emails in response to men's profiles, or pictures and some answer and some don't. The one's who don't I forget about anyway. Life is to short to spend your time feeling rejected. It's party time!! |
