I ordered a CECB online last night, the Insignia NS-DXA1.
Will I need to buy an antenna as well, or how would that work? Anyone know? |

yes, you will need rabit ears or, an outside ant.(I have received my coupons for the conv. box.)put it on last night. the smart ant. is recommended. because it says-- a more powerful antenna may be required to boost reception for the Digital TV signal.

Thanks, I'm not sure if the Insignia NS-DXA1 has smart antenna or not.

all the conv. boxes will have the hook-up for the smart ant.

I've been reading a little about the smart antenna, for what I understand it's basically a virtual antenna? I wonder how that actually helps any.

I ordered a CECB online last night, the Insignia NS-DXA1. Will I need to buy an antenna as well, or how would that work? Anyone know? DTV converter boxes tend to work better if you've got an external antenna on the top of your house or apartment building. You MIGHT get some DTV lovin' with an internal antenna ("bunny ears"), but your results will more-than-likely vary. An even better prospect would be to go out and get a TV signal amplifier, which will add approximately 10dB of boost to the bandwidth going into your TV. Channel Master makes one that works REALLY well- it's about the size of two cans of Spam placed side by side, and runs off of AC power. It's fairly cheap, too- only twenty smackers. It's just the thing you need if you get poor reception, as it will allow you to get the signals you wouldn't get normally. |
