A Vision of Blue Lace

Blue lace over slender shoulders,
like wispy clouds over a summer sky.
She walks away from you
with the flowers you brought for her.
Tears are in her eyes,
but only thinking of yourself
you fail to notice.
Unknowingly you break her heart
and again being selfish, you blame her.
Everything is her fault
according to your terms,
because of your bruised ego
you watch her walk away and drop the flowers.
But all you remember is your bruised ego,
and blue lace over slender shoulders.
