It's called a "double standard"- When the COOL people are putting cartoons and fine art in their profile pic collections, it's "cool". But if someone decides NOT to have pics in his or her profile, it's "not cool" and the person is bannished from cooldom by being called "the one WITHOUT profile pics". However, you just KNOW that if the cool people decided to not put in/remove all their profile pics, then THAT would be considered cool. Hope this helps.   I just found out I'm not cool. Someone once told me I should lose my birdie for my pic.  And it was a really cool bird too! You're very cool in my book.

I think some people don't want people who know them off the net, see them on a dating site. All I have up is a cartoon.
 Its either that, or they are not confident with the way they look. I'm afraid I fall under both categories.

Everyone's upset when someone doesn't have pictures on their profile. But you all seem fine when someone has no pictures of themself but paintings or cartoons or something. Why is that? Pictures are bonus from my vantage, but if something develops, I'd like to see confirmation that although I might fit into their picture of a person they could be with, I'd need confirmation that they would too. For friendly chats, I could care little what they put in their picture space. The rest is a literary adventure. |
