My first car. I had a friend who knew cars and a Dad who didn't. He was so looking forward to helping me pick out my first car though, that I chose him over my friend and he picked me a real lemon. I paid 2,700 for it and 7 weeks later spent 1400 on transmission problems over the next 3 weeks. After all that the choices were, spend more money on a new transmission or have it towed away and take the bus. I took the bus for a year and had my friend help me pick out my 2nd car.

My ex would be considered my biggest money mistake, but she does get half credit for my son. So it makes up for the $36,000.

getting involved in a business venture with a so-called friend who thought that he could make millions selling water/air purifiers. Yeah, I suppose you could have made some money at it...but he was too damn lazy to go out and try to sell them. He wanted everybody else to do it for him

You know, I just realized that my answer to EVERY "mistake" question is always the same -- getting married.
Not that I haven't made a billion other mistakes, but that's the biggest one ever. Cost me money, time, friends, and so much more.... |
