I don't get it! Why would you share intimate details of your life with someone, create a bond and then just leave without so much as a goodbye? frown

because this isn't real life..and they can...i think it's usually that the things they've shared aren't quite the truth then when they think they're going to have to step up or be found out...POOF!!! they're gone...that's my theory anywayflowerforyou

Sometimes people just want someone to listen, if even for a moment.

Sometimes they're just lying their brains out and can only do it for so long before they're caught so they get out when they can't keep up with their lie.

Uhh there's lots of other reasons... ToNS, really... only they really know.

It sucks, but it's part of e-life. You'll get used to it, eventually.

I come and go from this site, but I still care about the people I'm friends with. I just need a change once in a while. I still pop on here from time to time.

I generally have a rule that saves me a lot of hurt cuz I'm sensitive about it, too. Try it out, might work for you as well.

If they don't give you any other way of contacting them, don't take them seriously.

If they give you a valid phone number, there's more to trust in having a friendship they might consider as more real. Same with an email address or messenger ID where you've actually corresponded with them.

Then this is my fault, since I refused his number early on and never thought to ask for it again...I'm a bad friend. frown

Nah, don't beat yourself up about it... you didn't know. Some people like to give their phone number to everyone... and not everyone is a phone kinda person. If he considered you a friend, he would've said bye before he left. Maybe he's just having issues and isn't thinking of anyone but himself. Wait a few days, you might see him back on your friends list. flowerforyou

I hope he does show back up. I was new when he offered it and a little intimidated by this whole thing. In fact before I signed up, I knew about pranksters and cons and was treading pretty carefully. I'm on the phone all day already and don't talk to my long time friends on the phone that much...I can't give my number out to all my friends or I'd need the Sprint intervention as well as JSH anonymous. laugh I can't even imagine that phone bill!

I don't blame you. Some people simply want phone numbers to stalk you. It's one more foot in the door. I always make sure I get to know them a bit before the phone scenario even takes place. Of course time doesn't make someone uncrazy laugh

Most of the time, being weary about someone is a good thing... you should always listen to your gut feelings. It saves lives flowerforyou
