I should have bought some of those Forever stamps when I had a chance.grumble

I actually had to go to the post office today because I only had 2 cent stamps at home and was not about to give them an extra penny because I was too lazy to go get the 1 cent stamps.

Back to topic, I don't reply to every email, unless I have something in common with the person.

Nope. Sometimes I just don't see a point. The whole art of conversation is lost to many. If you want to say Hi to someone and that's all you wanted to say, well then you don't need to leave it as an open-ended statement. But, if you want someone to respond, try asking them a question after you've said your initial hello.

Do you respond to every email you get?

Just about -- I won't reply to scammers and spammers and trolls and troublemakers, as a general rule -- it only encourages them. But if it's legitimate, yeah.

Part of it is just common courtesy, and part of it is because I remember how nobody replied to my e-mails when I first joined the site. I will never forget that experience, and I don't want to perpetuate that lack of consideration.

I did at first, but some turned out to be quite obnoxious
or downright rude, so I go by what they say in the first email
and their profile.

If I do not get a good feeling about either, I do not
respond.

Thank you. Seriously, the nicest thing anyone can tell me is that my writing had an impact on them....because that means I succeeded in what I was trying to do.

And you're special, anyway....you catch all the subtle nuances....!!

Sometimes, when we go through all this stuff, the best thing in the world is a kind word attached to an ear and a shoulder....

I never once thought I'd feel the way I do about the people on this site. Earlier this week I was thinking about something, and I said, Oh, I need to put that in my next e-mail to Lexy. I will admit I am amazed at how well you understand me.

That happens often, that I think of mailing my friends here. flowerforyou
