Does anyone know if there are good Morel areas around the St. Ann area? Is this even the season? I heard it was, but I dunno.

Does anyone even know what Morels are? They are mushrooms that only grow in the wild.flowerforyou

I'm in St. Louis. I never thought about morels near St. Ann.

I would think it would be more south of Jefferson County. But..I really don't know.

Do you have good recipes for them?

No, I just cook them with butter, and put them in my spagetti

you just have to look around but the best time is after it rains because the rain softens the dirt and helps them come out of the ground quicker.hillsides are the best places to look

st. Ann has morels in 2 places that I know for sure and I can tell you since I no longer live in there. Try Val Hal cematary on the rock road down toward hanley. Look for big old trees and then look for the ones with the dead limbs still in them. The other place you have to go at night. With a flashlight. Its the St.Ann golf course.Hurry the season is almost over!!
