why not go out have a nice meal if you have a kid its better to get along How about I just ask him to take me clothes shopping. Money better spent after dinner Sounds good to me

You might be putting WAY too much into this, my ex and I can go out for dinner, (with our daughter) we can spend time together (with our daughter) and we can even talk on the phone. I think you want him back, and that idea excites you.

My ex asked me out a few times while we were going through the divorce. I know exactly what he wanted since he told me. I think it was on those occasions when all of his girlfriends had already told him no.

I don't want my ex back, so when he calles and says hey lets go to dinner I don't get all crazy about it... I think you should forgo the "date" until you fully understand your feelings, and only let him in contact with your son.

I tried it as well with my ex. It didn't work the second time around for the same reasons that the first time didnt work. We still talk to eachother though. We can even hang out at eachothers house and watch a movie with the kids. Or take them all to dinner. I know it will never be anything more than friends though and he's finally realized it too.
