"Giant, the Taipei-based maker of international bicycle brands such as Boulder, Yukon and Iguana, is reaping the profits. The company, which produced 5.5 million bikes in 2007, is expected to pull in $1 billion in sales this year, up 10 percent, it says."

Giant's story is typical of the global $61 billion bicycle industry, which is enjoying unprecedented growth as cycling becomes a major recreation sport and lifestyle option in many Western countries http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080514/lf_nm/bikes_taiwan_dc |

I'm all crippled up, but I'll continue to be a cane walking, bus riding, car pooling fool! I'm with ya man. My doc just told me to leave my bike alone, due to problems I am having with my hips (could not walk yesterday after riding for about half an hour). I am seriously hoping this is not a permenant issue. I gues tomorrow I find out what the chiropractor says. Meanwhile, I am stillw alking, riding the bus, car-pooling (I gladly drive, so long as anyone else with chips in for gas, adn I chip in when I am the passanger). I would pull the old skateboard out of the closet, but then the cops would be picking me up on a "safety" call ![]()

Safety call? Last time I touched a skateboard,I was on the sucker for about 10 seconds and then I was relaxing pleasantly on the concrete. |
