Love it, hate it? I keep hearing that the storyline is kind of flat but the graphics are "friggin awesome" but I'm curious about a deeper opinion (from a non-game rating site) before I buy it.

I haven't bought Okami, but I HAVE played it once (a nephew had it on his Nintendo DS).

The story CAN be a little flat, but that's mostly because its taken from Japanese mythology and can be a little hard to get into if you're not into that kind of stuff. Don't let that be a deterrent, though- some of the best games out there use non-standard plotlines.

If there's anything that makes Okami stand out, it's the game play and the graphics, which look like feudal-era Japanese artwork. It also makes good use of the DS stylus, where you make calligraphic-like strokes to enact special moves and stuff.

In total, I liked what little I played of it. It wasn't all that violent, and was rather addictive at times.

are you sure? Im pretty sure okami isnt out for the DS, nor are there plans for it. Id been saying for years itd be the perfect platform for it.

Im prob going to pick it up for the Wii soon. People compare it to the legend of zelda games.
