I ignore Im requests If we havn't talked on email some first. Maybe I shouldn't...but, I do.

I still think that it is more polite to email and ask first. why would it be rude if a person said I am sorry am I intruding as an opening gambit.  I am sure if a lady IM you without knowing you to ask your opinion about a guy you wont be taken aback.

Maybe rude was my wrong choice of word.
The one time that happened to me it was very uncomfortable getting an IM and not even having the time to look at a profile before accepting. By the way after all was said and done, she came off as slightly psychotic. Makes me kind of gunshy. |
