So I took a chance, and decided,
That I just had to talk to you.
I couldn't let you walk away,

And now, that we've hung out for awhile,
And you know how much I care.
I just wanted to tell you something...
Even though that isn't fair.

Because you have obligations,
and a love that's not really whole.
I don't know why you can't just see,
That only I can fill your soul.

But even if I can only watch you,
While my heart breaks each day anew...
I can at least say that I took that chance!
