But knew they were involved with a significant other, would you still pursue a relationship? if they leave them for you chances are they will leave you for another so why bother

I wouldn't do it. My last relationship was with someone who wasn't even with her they were separated for over a year. She left him.. She lived 1000 miles away. I thought he loved me but I always had the feeling she was in bed with us if you know what I mean. In the end, I couldn't stand knowing that he couldn't get her off his mind and wanted her back. It was awful when i realized the truth.
