there is a difference between these statements...
My life is full of things I love. I love my life. If so, why so...if not so, why so also please. |

I am just content with both statements.

yes, the first one is materialistic, the second is not!

yes, the first one is materialistic, the second is not! I agree,..that says it all |
|
|
|
the first one implies you need "stuff" to make you love or feel loved
and the second one means you are content with where you are in life |
|
|
|
The first one denotes that there are many blessings in your life, however you may not be fully happy with your life.
The second one says you are happy with your life, but it may or may not be full of misery. |

|
Can't "things" be general for work, events, hobbies and people as well in this statement though?

yes, the first one is materialistic, the second is not! why does it have to be materialistic? The author could mean it to be people or experiences, or anything... no where is there a connotation to material possesions. |

Can't "things" be general for work, events, hobbies and people as well in this statement though? yes, however it is still a materialistic prespective |

The first one is partially inclusive, there are things that make you happy but not everything. The second one includes all in your life.

there is a difference between these statements... My life is full of things I love. I love my life. If so, why so...if not so, why so also please. First can be kids, parents, people, things, materials. Second means love life in general, which is a combination of all or some of the above. |

This came up in a conversation today. My thinking was that one can content themselves with thinkgs/people that they enjoy about thier lives...but to be truly happy, you must love your life as well or even despite them.
I'm interested in Lilys idea that you can love your life even in misery. |

You can dislike events in your life, or people, or whatever, but if you are true to yourself, you get threw them with strength and dignity. I've seen and been threw things in my life that made me who I am today, and I wouldn't change a thing about it. Even the worst times were good... (after the fact of course) |
