I have been known to give the silent treatment but it is really because I am so angry that I cannot articulate an intelligent conversation. I will cool down and then see if we can address it then. I don't do it to play games with people though, that is just ridiculous. I am also respecting of the time another will need to come back to me if they are angry. If the silent treatment goes on too long though then maybe we just need to leave each other alone for good.

I am really bad at giving the silent treatment, when I'm mad I give one word answers... so you know I'm listening, but don't want to talk to you...

It's subconcious, not planned... mostly.

I got called out on it just 2 days ago too.....

I think that is totally appropriate. You don't shut down communication, just wait until you can discuss it rationally.

I know cool down periods vary for everyone, but ignorance is not bliss with the silent treatment.... unless you are going to swear at the person otherwise. Not me....

After I threw a hissy fit- which I later apologized for- we're okay again.
