My Betas act much the same way at times, he will come around, he is most likely eating off the bottom of the tank and you just dont know it. Relax give him some brine shrimp and watch him

Well if it's a beta and its by itself, check the temperature. I think it should be somewhere around 80? Not sure... Check the size of the pellets, and try changing the water. If too much ammonia builds up it can cause sluggishness and a loss of appetite.

I put my fish in a new tank about a week ago and ever since I put him in his new home he will not eat. It is like he is depressed or mad at me or something. I have come to enjoy Norman. Any fish experts out there How do I get Norman to eat? Talk to him in a low tone, pets can understand people talk. I always do that when I get to leave my brat dawg at home to get rid of him freakin' out |

Same filter, same gravel and everything?
Think about the things you might have changed besides the tank... he might not have adjusted well to something. Hope it all works out. |

betas only live for about 2 1/2 years, and not many people know it, but they are over a year old before they are large enough to sell in the stores. thats about all i know about that species. I have a 75 gallon salt water, and I have to let the water cycle up to a month before I could add my fish to the larger tank. When I did, my fish were freaked out, but with in a few days they were back to normal. The last time I added fish however, the new ones refused to eat. I actually had to go buy some rosy reds, small live fish, to get them eating. try a new food, i bet they would love the brine shrimp. Mine do.
