It’s you and me here with
hearts wholly known.
We lie here alone.
The quiet is softly calm;
we cradle each other in
love’s sacred palm.
No need for words, as
we've heard all delicate
sensations pass between
our precious Souls.
Wide awake we find a
way to silently state and
communicate both joy
and sorrow. The power
of our connection gives
us room to fully reflect
on what is truly needed
to strengthen our union.
For the river flows both
ways and our awareness
of how we need to
proceed to care for and
prepare for more of life's
ups and downs rises in
waves, yet recedes in our
knowing. We find rest
inside what we’ve shown
one another in distant
lives, and it is here we
decide to lovingly abide.
