it wasent mom i was worried about, it was grandma and grandpa
|
|

If it kept me on the farm. Granddad really didn't care.The only rule he had was no deer hunting. We had some monster bucks!

my pops would kick my ass for anything bad, and grandma was one no one wanted to cross
|
|
|
|
My grandparents were to old. But they would have some nasty suggestions!

mine werent, i had to help in the fields, and the old man could out work me without breakin a sweat

We raised 300 acres of Christmas trees. Before that, I raised calves in Virginia.

we did tobacco, wheat, and pigs,, and the garden,, which was about 8 acres
|

I hate raising pigs! On an individual basis, okay. But, after that, Sorry, NOWAY!

we kept about 10 at a time,, and every month or so we would slaughter one and have either a hell of a cook out,, or we would have enough meat for a while
|
|
|
|
The farmer down the road from me in Virginia raised a fair number. And I would smell the pigs with a southerly wind.

|
smell that money !

yeah,, there was a slaughter house down the road from me,, tuesdays and thursdays i would get the smell in the mornings going to school,,,, hell of a way to wake up
|
