I've found that time zones have a lot to do with things. People will log in while others will be logging out and stuff. But in the end, it simply isn't worth worrying about it- if these "other" friends end up not wanting to show up to say hi anymore, then it's THEIR loss. Let the crap roll off of your back and go on to bigger and better things. It's simply not worth the stress. And -coming from a person who's had to endure a LOT of stress over the years (mostly from my line of work)- having to deal with MORE stress is not a good thing to deal with. :) There'll be other people to make wear pink loin-cloths with. There always are.
