I don't see how it could be Heaven or Nirvana without it... although religions surely vary.
Doesn't Islam promise the martyred a bunch of virgins in heaven?!? I know many who believe in Heaven presume that their spouses will be with them there and I would guess that they assume that the closeness that they had here will somehow be available to them there as well.. Lovemaking has pretty widespread appeal as the best thing on earth so not sure how you could have any kind of paradise without it. then again many believe that after this life we are not corporal beings so I'm not sure what "intimacy" would mean in relation to beings that are purely spirit? Of course physical love can have strong spiritual components- so perhaps pure spirits can be intimate... What a fun question! Maybe this one won't prompt a lot of fighting but still produce variety?!? One can but hope... |

I believe in reincarnation so there will always be physical intimacy.
However, I’ve also had dreams of the spiritual world. There is also cerebral intimacy there that cannot be experienced in the physical form. It’s actually a quite deeper intimacy than humans can know. Imagine for a moment, that physical intimacy as we know it often takes the form of wanting to become one. Wanting to get inside one another or become fulfilled with one another. Well, in the spiritual world that kind of intimate fulfillment takes on a whole new level. In the spiritual world it actually is possible to become as one completely (like being completely fulfilled). Form the masculine point of view it would be like being able to completely enter a woman entirely. From the feminine point of view it is like being completely fulfilled by a man entirely. Only in the spirit world, it is genderless. You see, once the two become one, it no longer matters who ‘entered’ whom, or who was ‘fulfilled’, once they are completely one that are both “inside” each other. I actually experienced cerebral ecstasy in my dream. It’s the same feeling as physical ecstasy but far more profound. Far more ‘naked’ far more ‘intimate’ far more ‘raw’ (if you will) Also, the spirit world is quite differnet from this world. In the spirit world we can remember what incarnations were like. You can actually take physical form by pure thought (just from memory of what it was like to have physical form). All manifestation in the spirit world are caused by thought (just as incarnations are). However, actual incarnations are a bit differnet, at least in my dream. Whether this had anything to do with the true nature of reality I don’t know. Some people believe that anything you can imagine has reality. And, in fact, if reality is created by imagination that makes perfect sense.  |

I sure hope so because I'm not getting any here on earth. I get it in my dreams. And sometimes I wonder if reality can ever match my dreams? I only know that it hasn't matched them yet!
