My best friend is completely disrespectful to her parents, especially her mother. She just turned 18, and while she doesn't do the things like the kids on the Maury show do .. I'VE been tempted to slap her for the way she back-talks to her mother.
And when her dad says something, or hits her for it, OMG .. you'd think he broke her arm with all the dramatics she throws. She ran away from her house, lived with me for a week, because "her father kicked her out" ... when all that happened was he said, "If you don't like it, you can leave" and she did.

I never acted out as a child, because even though my father never beat us, I knew he would. I did get hit with a belt once, but that was because I couldn't run away fast enough.

I was until I talked to my ex about last night.
Seems he regretted it happening, even though he said "I don't regret things I can't change".
I took it as he regrets it happening.

i'm sorry to hear that....
but hey, there's always tomorrow...and you'll be smiling again before you know it.. i'm lucky enough to know this from experience
