See the litle girl, with the worn out shoes
On the corner she waits and cries from the blues
For someone to drop some change in her cup
With tear stained eyes in hope she looks up
But people pass by with not even a glance
She wonders if she will ever have a chance
To have the things that others kids get
And take for granted daily, and quietly she sits
She dreams of a home with blankets and food-
Some folks are indifferent and some are plain rude.
Yet she sits and as she waits she prays
For a better life and brighter days.
But for a moment if we would just pause
And think beyond ourselves and remember a cause
Something bigger than just ourselves we'd see
That we live in the land of plenty so free
Others are bound by whats out of their control
Starving and needy in search of a soul-
Willing to give just a little bit of time,
Oh how this breaks this heart of mine
Wheres compassion gone, where is humility?
If we could see to help in our community;
This kind of poverty wouldnt exsist anymore
We'd all be rich and none would be poor-
Can we make a difference, Id have to say yes
But it will take effort and work I confess.
Will walk by and turn a blind eye-
Or will we show love when a little girl cries?

Superb!GEL.I love your work and always anxiously await the next one. This
subject pulls at my heart and forces me to question so many things;I
desperately need answers to in life.Sadly I wonder if some of these
basic questions will go with me to my grave unanswered. So profoundly
saddening indeed the very disintegration of humanity and society. This
one rips at my heart as powerfully as a lost love.If mankind's level of
compassion and love does not increase for one another we are certainly
doomed.I am also gravely concerned of our Government's misguided
direction and loss of prioritizing. These decisions generously feed our
destruction and downfall.I could care less of space exploration and
playing continental Saviour.Irritated would be an understatement.I
remember 1 simple Q & A that will haunt me the rest of my life.Q~We are
not going to make it are we?A~No!Human Beings are self~destined to
destruct themselves. So sad.Even the the smallest deeds can mean so much
and make a positive impact upon your fellowman.God willing;man's eyes
and hearts better open for the results looming are grievous.I commend
you dearly for attempting to heighten people's awareness.God Bless
You!GEL.Your Friend,Cybear. flowerforyou

Beautifully written. Very sad and unfortunately a reality for too many
children. Sad that society turns their backs on so many human need
issues. No child should go hungry or cold, for there is so much wealth
in this world.
