after that, it will teach her a lesson on talking to me the way she did, i'm NOT taking it to her.. would any other parent do the same? No, I wouldn't. That's childish. Teach her that problems are communicated through. Teach her that she's your child and isn't allowed to talk to you that way. If you act like her, then you are placing yourself on her level and making yourself her equal. Take her the darn homework and talk to her about her behavior. Maybe there is a reason that you aren't aware of, which made her treat you so rudely. the reason is that she is a pre-teen girl. They are all attitude queens. |

My daughter is strong, intelligent, and opinionated. Not likely to be controlled with a squirt of dish soap.
It's not that easy. |

as a single mom of 2 teens and a preteen I agree ...you have to nip them attitudes in the bud because they do blossom into worse ones.
ex: yesterday I was trying to take both boys to the movies & the 14 yr old did'nt want to go with mom (wanted to go w/ friends) but his friends were no where to be found...so he wanted the rest of us to wait until today so he can get his schedule w/ his friends. He argued all morning...I said go with us or don't ....but if your friends aren't going on Sunday you miis it! |
