it drives me insane when my son starts whining about something... and then i will try to change the subject... and he'll whine about that...

for example... its bed time.... he is hungry... (after eating two bowls of cerale earlier)... I offer him the third bowl that he just had to have but didn't eat... he starts whining that he's hungry but dont want the cerale).... I offer him a banana or other healthy options..... still whining no and that he is hungry....finally he says he wants a banana... ok get him one out of the fridg..... whines that he can't hold it.... then when he takes a bite.... whines that it tastes funny......then whines that its too cold...ggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Been there done that. How old is he? Around 4 - 7? Sounds like every day avoiding going to bed tactics.

We love to drive females crazy, even if it is our moms.

My 3 year old does the same thing.......... i usually whine back and she starts laughing........I don't give in though into bed she goes we read say prayers and lights out.........they eventually out grow it.......actually no they don't the whining just changes topics.......LOL

5 he is pretty good about going to bed... i think that he was just over tired..b/c he fell asleep just now as I was reading to him. that makes all the whining worth it.

Yea they can drive you crazy one minute then turn around and you just have to love them.

quit pampering him and put him to bed

you giving in to the whining will reinforce the whining and it will get worse

I dont pamper my son. he has a bed time routine and we follow it. He was just over tired. he had his pre-school graduation today.
