What I don't get is that people like to say this war is over oil, and the same people like to blame high prices of gas on the war. Which is it? If we went there for the oil our gas prices would go down.
On a side note, war actually stimulates an economy. The governments dept and our economy are separate unless you want to look at GDP where the higher your government spending, the higher you GDP and the bigger your economy. |

If they are setting oil prices higher to gain a bigger profit, they could do that without there being a war.

perhapse if Iraq hadnt been blown to hell and most of its oil production removed from the world market for several years it would be on the list and helping to drive down the cost of oil. regardless of who we buy our oil from it is a world commodety. the less that is available the higher the price. I think a more accurate picture would be given takeing this into account. For the most part anyhow a big cause of the high gas prices is the decrease in the value of he dollar. mostly due to our countries high debt led mostly by our occupation in Iraq. you know the war that is the most expensive in history? the one that is privatised by the likes of HAlliburton and KBR? I was wondering though over my cup of coffee, I thought the private sector was supposed to be more effeciant and less costly than government programs but when you look at what the KBR men and halliburten men are makeing in Iraq it by far surpasses what an average GI makes in pay. this sorta makes me think the Iraq war is just some type of massive swindel takeing our hard earned tax dollars and laundering that money into the private sector.
