I do it all the time. Not as often as I would like because I am not out in the mix all the time but I do. Adding on, you said to elaborate, I have paid for a persons meal when they forgot their wallet, I have paid bus fare for someone who lost their change, I give money to the people standing at the exits off the highway, I let people in front of me in lines, I let people in on the road, I always try to smile at people who expect a frown or a finger, etc.... I know I am forgetting a lot but I don't think about it anymore once I do it.

Oh and that movie was a tear jerker wasn't it?? sad

What movie?

"Pay it forward" with Helen Hunt, it comes on tv now and then.

ok you guys are making me cry.. You're all great.. I do random kind acts quite often as well.. I am forever seening old women in the stores in the summer time when it's horridly hot and they'll be walking as I'm pulling out.. So I always stop and offer them a ride... One time there was a drunk woman stumbling through town.. I saw her try to use the phone almost stumble in the street.. I asked her if she was ok, she slurred a few things and something about a cab and no money so I told her I would drive her home... I did and she was really nice to me too, she thanked me by throwing up "after" she got out of my car.. Oh and bums money I can't say no... ohwell

Someone mentioned in the thread that these are hard times.Ur sure right about that.Well 3 days ago on my way into CVS I dropped $20.00 in the can. This is to benefit a homeless teenagers fund which is becoming a very serious issue. In fact Jewel spoke before the Senate last yr in regards to this rising & very serious issue. What moves me more though is when I can help someone on the spot. There expression of gratitude is overwhelming.I paid 4 a woman's order in Big M 1 time. She was so happy that she jumped fwd giving me a fierce hug & knocking my food out of hands.I was teary eyed & overwhelmed 2 say the least

The people who truly appreciate when you give to them are the ones who themselves would give if they could..it makes it all worth while...

 The people who deserve your love the least are the ones who need it the most:heart:

There was an apartment fire close by me. Where there were students living. (the scary thing is I deciding between the building i am in and that one). I got a text message at 6 am from a co-worker asking if I was ok. I turned on the news and found on which building it was in. I hurried and got me and my son ready. I pack up some pbj sandwiches and water, grabbed a couple old sweatshirts and headed down there. I had to go to my internship, but I called that morning serval times to get a hold of the director of social work admission, where i am a student. We organized a collection for those students. Unfortunately, the powers to be higher did not want to take the clothes to distribute it. But I made a phone call and they did at least distribute bath items and school supplies.

Paying it forward doesn't have to be this complicated, just a simple jester as simple as walking by a parking meter and putting a quater in or asking someone if they want help carrying something or just a smile.

have you ever participated in random acts of kindness? For example..paid the toll for the car behind you or for the order of the carload of kids behind you at Taco Bell...
Ever had someone go above and beyond for you? Elaborate please...

Yes, it's always refreshing to see that kind of love still exists today, and I do pass it along as well.

Only going to list ONE, it's a very special one in my heart. About 10 years ago (my son was 10 is how I remember) I met a woman in a chatroom. She lived in Tampa and had a son who was the same age as my own (10).

Her son's name was Micheal and he had cancer. Micheal's b-day rolled around so I sent down some b-day gifts and Micheal and I was able to become friends. A couple of months later Micheal took a turn for the worst and his condition became more serious. So I asked his mother, ask Micheal if there was anyone in this world he could talk to, who would it be? Micheal told her two names of players from the Tampa Bay Bucs.

So I made a couple of phone calls and and the Tampa bay Bucs were GREAT! It took a few weeks, but BOTH players showed up to visit with Micheal! His mother took pics and sent them to me.

Micheal passed away a couple of months later at age 11. But I still remember the smile on his face! bigsmile brokenheart

(RIP Micheal) flowerforyou flowerforyou flowerforyou

Sharing, love, and helping. That's what life is about. And it should be that way. Even if it means sacrifice. Selflessness should be a virtue. My laundry list is long. I've helped many freinds and strangers. It is the way I live. Its called a big heart. May your God bless and keep all of you.

I saw this elderly lady struggling with her bags in the pouring rain and went and helped her the rest of the way home.

I do it all the time. Raise my kids that way. Im a very very strong believer in karma and that everything happens for a reason. And the wiccan rede says what you put out comes back threefold, bad or good. So Id prefer to put out the good and get back the good.

I have a few but this one I always deny. A couple miles from me there is an elderly women who lives next to some friends. She always push mowes her yard, about a half acre. Talking to her one day she said her riding mower broke last summer and couldnt afford to get another one. So the next day i picked up a used one and droped it off in her driveway with a bow on it. Didnt cost much but she looks happier cutting her grass these days.
