Sitting here tirelessly awaiting upon thee
Hope is failing for I am struggling to see A saddened fate has made me acutely aware Carving darkness with such piercing stare I wonder ceaseally the depth of Man's love Sit here confined as if I'm a trapped dove Seeking some knowledge so I may understand This depth of a heart within a mortal man Shallow mentality focused upon outer skin Blinded & incapable to see my beauty within Focused upon frailty as if keeping a score Perhaps exquisite beauty lends a hollow core This fabled perfection shall adorn your arm Such hopeless perception leaves me alarmed Open thy mind so then your heart will feel A much greater love than just sexual appeal Feel beyond textures then perhaps you'll see With such tainted vision you categorized me With prose and rhyme I may help you to know If a heart lies contained you will not grow So now you are wondering if it's pity I seek Certainly not;I will leave that for the meek I am as graceful & elegant as a lady can be Yet humbled by faith as God watches over me With faith and wisdom come capture my heart Vanity is such blindness that keeps us apart Discover humility and reach out for a chance Then my sweetest love our souls shall dance Written by CyPoet 4/28/08 |

This is so self expressive and sums up the way a lot of people think towards those they deem "disabled" in more ways than one, those of us "able-bodied" are disabled too, we disable ourselves when we do not see beyond the barriers we have built for ourselves in seeing the "disabilities" in others. A very good, clear cut and precise write.Nice one

No, it never will Lady, as long as people hold on to their closed minds. Some of my best days were spent with children who were deemed " disabled" I learnt so much from them, I learnt that in their "weakness " laid great strength, strength that would put many an "able-bodied" person to shame. |

Again..I have to agree..I've seen people go through MUCH less than I have and watched them crumble to pieces..a relative of mine..he lost his job..so one day he just picks up..goes to by a gun and went to a hotel to kill himself..They found him before he was able to go through with it..but it's like "damn it was just a job..did the world suddenly just run out of jobs where you can't go get another?"..I was mad at him for the longest time after that because with the way my life is and all the pain I'm in and surgeries etc..and I haven't done it then why should he ya know. |
