not exactly but for a while.. after being in a very untrusting relationship in which i was always being lied to and cheated on.. i grew to not trust anyone untill they earned it.. that caused trouble for any relationship because i couldnt trust anyone.. so i took a break for a year and worked on my issues and started trusting untill they gave me a reason not to .. the only time i ever compared someone to an ex is if we broke up because they were just like them.. and i dont mean just a couple of like qualities i'm talkin exactly like them

I certainly would not compare, but our relationship taught me there are traits that I cannot do without in future relationships, as well as traits that I will avoid.

question comes from my x constantly comparing any new interest i have to him he of course bases his opinions purely on looks

...no i dont....honestly i compare them to my mother...not meaning in a negative way...but my mother was and is such a sweet motherly type...she can do no wrong in my eyes even thou i know she is not perfect...but i match my date to her standards....
