Topic: Job Interview! | |
---|---|
I work as a CAD Drafter right now, but I'm only making $12/hour. I've been looking online and talking to people and I'm thinking I can make more elsewhere. Plus, I'll be a college grad w/ two degrees in a matter of weeks.
My friend works at an engineering firm, and she got me an interview for this Thursday. They'll pay about $18-25/hour! I'm so nervous about the interview, I really want to work there. Any job interview tips? Thanks! |

The problem with helping someone with a job interview is that I would need to know what type of job your interviewing for. That would determine the appropriate attire, ie if your interview for a field engineer job you don't want to go to dreesed up in a nice dress like you would for a personal assitant job.
My best job interview was actually my worst prepared one. I was called up by a friend of a person I worked with, and said he would like to talk to me after work. I didn't have time to go home and change, so I went straight there covered in dirt and grime. I got the job(75K a year) because he liked that I got dirty with the troops. |

I've been on lots of interviews and I've interviewed alot of people. Eye contact is super important as it shows confidence in self and assumed honesty. Take another couple copies of your resume with you just in case. Dress classically-business casual+. Blue, black, white. Neat, clean appearance. Don't fiddle with your hands, don't ever cross or fold your arms. Facial gestures and body language say more than words.
