Ok, this will be kind of a ranting sounding board kind of thread.....

I have it stuck in my head (at least in the back of my head) that beauty is what society/media thinks that it is... When a guy says that I am beautiful/sexy/gorgeous, I question it. I think what gets to me, is that guys online tell me i am beautiful everytime i get an im, but noone approaches me in person. When i tell a guy that they are like really, I would

Other other day, my friend Casita saw the pic that I have up on the site, the one with the curlers in my hair. She was like omg Tanya you should be a model, that picture is gorgeous. You are so beautiful, you have a great face. I said even for a plus size model I would need to lose weight.

I am happy about myself (I dont have low selfestem) but sometimes the push for every female to be thin and well proportioned gets to me.

I use to have a saying "if i was anorexically skinny, i would look like a barbie doll." But I dont know if I want to look like barbie now. I would be happy if I could just get down to what I was in high school. Which was about a size 12/14/16 pants.

It does irritate me a little (sometimes a lot) that beauty sometimes is valued over (or at least first) intelligence, kindness, and compassion. I would rather be told that I smart or funny.

I wasn't really asking in the thread, if i was model material, but what ppl thought about beauty or comment on what we are presented as being beautiful.

I once heard a girl... well, tell another girl that it isnt how big you are, it is how you carry it. In the end it is all down to who you are as that always shines through brightest!

I dated a girl every one at work said was just the Sh*&^ they all wanted to date her well a few months with her I didnt think I was so lucky.
my last girl was a bit overweight not so much in the looks department but I thought she was beautiful inside and out ,

I think unless there are health issues involved, we tend to each suit our bodies. I could have more flesh, be softer and rounder. I think softer shapes are beautiful. But that's not what I have, so appreciate it in others, while I appreciate what I have in me. It's my opinion that you're a beautiful, soft shaped woman.
