what happened to the love? why is it now that everyone will just settle for anything just to have someone by their side? what happened to being completely head over heels before tking that next step, casual hookups are lame.

I have never had what would be a casual hookup. Everyone I have ever been with was someone who I considered I could spend my life with.

I've probably been hurt less times then most people but in worse ways.

Actually, giving your heart to someone is a risk that must be taken. The right guy would hold your heart and you hold his, together your a whole. Unfortunatly, most guys just want to bust a load.
True love, is more about having a best friend, someone that is always on your side even though they know your wrong. someone who will help you at anytime in anyway. In a relationship both partners need to give in at times and contort to what the other needs, sadly it's the women who end up bending the most.
I want a equal, to share my life and theirs. As for sex that's not even an issue, Ive done it all, except for animals and men.
You need someone who understands you, knows what you need, when you need space and right off the top of their head could name something completly random that you told them in one of your geeky rambles that they really don't care about.
Like if it was ever brought up in conversation "hey who was the fisrt captain on the original star trek?" and you automaticaly remember capt. Pike and he can do the same for you.
Bottomline, you need trust, a bestfriend and that's where true love is, it's in the little things, not the big gestures that fade, but the small stuff like "hey, babe you need to take some benadryll(sp?) that poptart had red dye 40 in it." when you find that, you find true love.
