I was and have the last day or two looked online for a free program to update any drivers on my pc but can't seem to find any thing.

Does any body know where I might be able to find one that is free to download and use. ??????

Thanks a head of time.

There's all sorts of drivers that are needed for a typical Windows-loaded computer... from the video card, to the sound card, to various peripherals (printers, etc.) to Windows itself.

If you know what items need driver updates, you can download them from their respected websites (for example- if you have a video card made by Nvidia, go to the nvidia website to download it). If you DON'T know what's inside your computer, then you'll need to either download a program that will tell you what you've got, or you'll need to take your computer to a place that can update said drivers for you ("Geek Squad", etc.).

Going to Geek Squad or any place alike it would cost me a lot of money.

That is why there are programs out there that would search ones pc and see which drivers on a person's pc need to be updated etc.

I was just trying to find a free one, I guess I'll just have to pay $30 bucks or something to get them all up to date etc.

Plus I didn't think this was such a tough / hard question to ask etc, but I guess it is.

Go to microsoft for system update , then click start , run , type dxdiag , go to the display tab , look at the model card , then go to ati/nvidia site and get the driver , the other drivers doesn`t really matter except for the video and windows itself

I've never....heard of a program that can go out and find all the driver updates for your system then update them. I've always just gone to the manufacturer sites, downloaded the drivers, and installed them.

See there is a load of sites that have programs for it .. http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=free+driver+updates+scan+and+downloads&fr=yfp-t-501-s&toggle=1&cop=mss&ei=UTF-8

The only problem is they cost some money to have there software update the drivers etc.
