Should men be giving relationship advice on JSH?

Example:

JSH SUZIE69 (post),

I hope someone can help me here. The other day I set off for work leaving my husband in the house watching the TV as usual. I hadn't gone more than a mile down the road when my engine conked out and the car shuddered to a halt. I walked back home to get my husband's help. When I got home I couldn't believe my eyes. He was in the bedroom with a neighbor lady making mad passionate love to her. I am 32, my husband is 34 and we
have been married for twelve years.

Can you please help?

JSH JOE25 (reply)

Susie, a car stalling after being driven a short distance can be caused by a variety of faults. Start by checking that there is no debris in the fuel lines. It could be that the fuel pump itself is faulty, causing low delivery pressure to the carburetor float chamber. I hope this helps. drinker

laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh frown frown frown ...it would be funny if it were not so tragic....

....how ironic that the "helper" totally overlooked the infidelity Q...Freudian slip maybe.....

Men like to focus on the concrete; on things they can actually do something about.

All sarcasm aside, it is a huge stereotype that males are automatically mechanical, and not emotional or cerebral.

If a women told me that, Id hope she wasnt looking for advice for the car, because I wouldnt have any advice to give, since Im a male, but have no knowledge of automobiles past changing the oil and the tires, and I have zero interest in them whatsoever.

However I went to buy a car once, and the sales person was totally patronizing to me. I said I wanted a 6 cylender (this is when gas was about $1.00 a gallon...am I showing my age here?) and he showed me a car...I said pop the hood for me. He did... I looked at him and said "this isn't a 6 cylendar" he said "yes it is" I said "Well sir, it has 4 spark plugs, now you can have a 6 cyl, with 12 spark plugs, and a 4 cyl with 8 spark plugs, but you can not have a 6 cyl with 4 spark plugs" He turned and walked into the show room and had another sales person help me.

So it goes both ways....

It's so cool that you never stereotype people.

I dont stereotype people, I say the truth, and some refuse to believe it applies to them.

I actually thought he gave great advice......spoke what he understood and knew something about.....

and remained quiet about what he knew little or nothing about and didnt want any part of......

My hats off to the advisor............
