Well...a$$hole, (former b/f of 6 yrs.), told me he was putting the place up for sale and I was to have MY horses off the property by the end of the month. (I have been trying to sell my horses for over a year.) A teacher in my district and her hubby bought Sage last weekend, and we had plans to get him trailered yesterday morning at 10:30...I have always complied with the ex b/f's wishes to notify him when I am out there and I did this time also. Yesterday morning I recieved an email from him saying no horses leave the property until I pay him back.

***sidenote: You have to remember this guy is an alcoholic and has a shot gun in the barn 24/7. He is very unpredictable.

I had a 3 hr. meeting at PETCO yesterday morning and planned on heading straight for the barn afterwards.

I thought it was a good idea to called the sheriff, explain the situation and ask if someone from the dept. could be out there while I help the people load Sage. He said it was a civil matter and could not be involved...but would 'try to be in the area'. The sheriff was in front of me as I pulled up, he tried calling after I spoke with him earlier and got no answer, so he knocked on the door, again no answer. The people who bought Sage were kind enough to take Mocha for me for safe keeping, until I can make other arrangements.

So when I got home from work last night I found 3 nasty phone messages from the ex b/f saying if I don't call him by 7pm, he'd call the sheriff on me. I didn't call...last message said, ok you wanna play hardball, I have a canceled check saying I paid for those horses and I consider them mine. I will notify the sheriff that YOU stole the horses from my property!

He has a canceled check...I have a purchase agreements...(legal documents)...stating I am the owner of the horses. He bought me the horses 5 yrs. ago and did NOT want his name on the papers as he put it, "They are YOUR horses!"

I left the dude 19-20 months ago...trying to get on with my life. On 3 different occassions he has begged me to come back to him...he doesn't know how to take NO as an answer...hates the feeling he doesn't have 'control' over me any longer.

Sorry for being so long winded this morning! But the venting sure felt good...thanks!

What he is doing is very cowardly and I am so glad you got the horses off his property safely.
