I think because they have such a short shelf life, so any attention taken away from them by another woman is a threatening

I think it is alot of times jealousy.. BINGO ...driven by insecurity a lot of times

My understanding is that women are backstabbers (known to each other....) Most of the women I meet are friends with men for that reason.... The thing that gets me is that if women don't hang out with other women because they are backstabbers, what are the men supposed to think????? I have wonderful female friends that I would trust with my life. Women are not backstabbers any more than men are.

Women are my friends and sisters, do not hate them, at all. I only want good things for my friends and they for me.

It's all about competition. You see, they want to be the hottest lady at the bar/restaurant/coffee house/mechanic's place, and the sight of a lady of potentially-conflicting hotness will result in their getting catty and cutting each other down. While they won't necessarily outright hate each other (in most cases, that is), they WILL use snide comments and under-the-breath insults. Of course, there's also the occasional catfight as well, but that's for a set of totally different reasons. Or not. I have no inclination to be the hottest lady anywhere. That is an unfair generalization, Moof.

I don't hate other women...BUT what I dislike and that is in anyone is someone pretending to be something they aren't..If you have something to say to me...say it to my face..NOT behind my back or under the guise of being a friend when you're not...and we will get along fine because I don't work that way!!!!!!!

Oh men fight. They just don't destroy each other from afar ... again .... NEARLY as much. Exceptions to every rule.
