My ex was in the US Navy, E5 I guess and he hates salt peter 
Yeah, I hated it too...but they put it in our food, so we really didn't know... Well, Ive read an article and it says its a JOKE! The officers make the enlisted believe though cooks dont really put it in their food, some kinda psychological. You should have checked if....  nevermind
