while sleeping one night i had a dream
it left a tale to tell
i dreamed i saw an angel
she wasnt looking well
her body was bruised and battered
her wings ripped and torn
i saw that she could bearly walk
she was tired,weary,and worn
i walked over to her and said
angel how can this be?
as she looked back and tried to smile
she said these words to me
im your guardian angel
quite a job as you can see
youve lived a very hard life
with that you must agree
youve broken laws and hearts
dont you see what youve done to me
the life youve lived so wrecklessly
ive often had to pay the bill
these bruises are from shielding you
each day i do my best still
my wings you see are ripped and torn
a noble badge i bear
so many times theyve shielded you
though you were unaware
if only you could embrace life
choose to do good on your own
it would end the pain and suffering
and know your not alone
i will always be there to watch over you
untill my stregth does fail
as for when that will be
all i can say is
only time will tell
when i awoke i thought
about my guardian angel
and how much she seemed to care
then i looked around my room
and my heart sank in despair
as i sat there thought and wondered
i said to myself
why didnt i even try
the air rushed by as if from beating wings
and i thought i heard an angel cry
