Topic: The most special day....

I have just spent THE most glorious day being a "buddy" at the Missouri Special Olympics. My Hanna was the most precious 10 yr old and had the best day this year. As we traveled from event to event and played sideline games, she beamed from ear to ear. By the end of the day, we were best buddies and had only one thing left to do...the atheletes were able to slap a whipped cream pie in their buddy's face. I took a pie for the girl! She thought it was so funny, she ran behind the screen and asked me to put a pie in her face. How could I refuse? So many smiles and giggles today with one special little lady. If you ever want to enjoy an entire day making someone happy with doing nothing but giving them your time, volunteer for the Special Olympics. I guarentee that you will be walking away on Cloud 9

I guarentee that you will be walking away on Cloud 9 my son is 21yrs old and is a special needs child. we never did the special olympics im not actually sure why. but he has always been my cloud 9.. hes my baby.

Very cool! I volunteered one year and had a blast! I've never met a happier group in my life!

It was so exhilerating and uplifting. I posted a picture of Hanna on the awards stand. She placed first in the softball throw. She was so proud, she had her hands in the air celebrating. Such a great thing to do!

Lil-bit Believe me you shared you exhuberance in the most delightful and wonderful way over the phone. I could see Hannah's face beaming with delight and the smiles on both your faces through the whip cream. Still think the XXL "T" shirt could be worn as a dress. Way to go my Friend. Way to go.
