I'd be more apt to be diplomatic and try to offer them some sort of made up storyline about a certain mint leaf that increases brain power and then give them one. Or, I would do some off the wall thing to not make them feel badly. That of course if it is someone that I really wanted to kiss. i think I'd have to know the person really well to tell them right up front.

If you really like the person, be a leader carry a pack of listerine strips and put one in your mouth then offer them one!
