Alone I paced among the pines,
River racing long and wide,
My heart skipping a tender beat,
As Mr. Beaver and I did meet.

He noticed me, I noticed him,
Gibbering something I began to grin,
Appearing wet this little bear,
Or at least to me, he did appear.

To need my smile for there he stayed,
Upon the bank barking in his own way,
Hello, my friend, you made my day,
I didn't move, I didn't sway.

I stood in awe of this creature,
Studying his every move and feature,
Steeping in his big brown eyes,
Was he a little bear in disguise?

He said goodbye and took a dive,
In that moment I came alive,
Wanting more upon that shore,
Each evening I'd go back for more.

Contentment lie upon the bank,
I'd watch my watch always giving thanks,
He'd splash, and show off just for me,
Coming closer, swimming free.

Since I haven't felt alone,
Billy beaver and God's unknown,
Lie there waiting, and I've succumbed,
To sit in silence, we become one.

Nature and I, now two old friends,
The path beyond may twist and bend,
I welcome all who squawk or squeal,
Engrossed in life's delicate spinning wheel.

I never know who will appear,
Among the pines or forest air,
Thankful just to be a part,
Alone in silence I pour my heart.

For it is there I am at home,
In the forest, all alone.
Upon the shore or untrodden vein,
Venturing in, I've not been the same.

Nature and I, complete together,
There my heart will rest forever,
Nestled in the forest pines,
Filled with life's nectar, my fine wine.
