There is a strong semblance of the truth in most stereotypes...hate to say it....

they wouldn't be around if there wasn't

If I found a man that I was interested in, it wouldn't matter to me if they were previously in the military or not... I can't say I'd be happy to fall for a man that I'd never see, though. I also wouldn't be too happy about said man prancing around in his underwear on the internet though, either. flowerforyou Good luck!

I think I am a very good example of being sterotyped. I am heavily tattoed and normally people look at me like I'm an ogre. But if people took the time to get to know ME, they would see that I am just like anyone else, just a little more colorful.

Now as far as the navy goes? I don't know anything about it at all, so I can't comment on the sterotype.flowerforyou

I like the stereotype that sailors get scurvy with no fruit on board....

That is just about as rational and relatable. Where do you meet these girls? The Love Boat? Gilligan's Island?

I meet them in my home port town in Nova Scotia, Canada. I dont meet them at bars as I dont go to bars all that often unless I'm in the band thats playing or a friend of mine is playing, I usually meet them through friends who introduce me. I did meet one at the library and we started going to coffee shops and just talking. We had great coversations about everything from books like The Illiad to political situations and the "green" state of mind. But again one three week trip was all it took. So is it the stereotype or her insecutiries?
Why does it have to be either? Maybe she didn't want to go out with you.

There are good people and bad in every walk of life, every profession (yes even lawyers) why should a sailor be any different. I take a person as he/she presents themselves to me.

Funny when I first looked at your picture I didn't think ogre, I thought this person probably has a lot of good stories to tell. It just looks like you live life to the fullest.

You are very welcome. I am sure it is their loss and most likely your gain when they don't take the time to get to know you.

stereotypes exist---

when looking at somebody...

but if you bother to talk to somebody u start to just
form your own opinions of them..

and decide if the sterotype was right or wrong!!
